Terms of service

Skein is run by Carlos Martínez, a self-employed professional in Spain (NIF 49424598J) (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to the website, the founder reservation and the Skein service. The legal notice has our full details.

The data processing agreement is part of these terms. The privacy policy explains the personal data we handle as controller.

You accept these terms when you pay for a reservation or start using the service. The version that applies is the one dated at the top of this page on that day; checkout records it.

Skein is for businesses and self-employed professionals. By reserving or subscribing you confirm you act for your business, not as a consumer, and that you can bind the business you reserve for.

You pay the first month now, at the founder price, and keep that price for as long as you stay subscribed.

• You choose your team (people with the agent and mailboxes without it). Checkout shows the amount for that team, plus VAT where it applies.
• Founder places are limited to 100 teams. A reservation is confirmed when the payment succeeds; you get an email.
• Your first month starts the day you get access, not the day you pay. One of the founders sets it up with you on a call.
• Your payment method is saved with Stripe so the subscription can start on that day without asking for it again. We email you before the first renewal.
• Founder prices cover up to 25 people with the agent; more people pay the standard price.

Until your access starts, you can get a full refund. No questions, no forms.

• To ask for it, reply to your confirmation email or write to info@skein.email from the address you reserved with. We refund the full amount to the original payment method within 5 business days; your bank may take a few more days to show it.
• A refund ends the reservation and releases the founder place.
• Once your access starts, the first month is in use and is not refunded. You can cancel any time before the next month is charged.
• If we decide not to launch Skein, we refund every reservation in full and tell you by email.

• The subscription is per person with the agent, plus mailboxes without it, billed monthly or yearly in advance. Prices are on the website and exclude VAT.
• You can add or remove people and mailboxes at any time; the change shows on the next invoice.
• We email you at least 30 days before a price change. Founder prices do not change while you stay subscribed.
• If a payment fails we tell you and retry; if it keeps failing we may pause the service until it is paid. Your data is not deleted while it is paused.

Skein is for your business’s own conversations. Sending reputation is shared, so you must not use it to:

• Send unsolicited bulk or marketing email, buy or rent lists, or ignore unsubscribe requests.
• Send phishing, malware, fraud, or content that is illegal or infringes others’ rights.
• Impersonate others or send from domains and addresses you are not allowed to use.
• Probe, overload or get around the limits and security of the service.

We may limit or pause sending from an account to protect deliverability and other customers, and we tell you why. We may end the service for serious or repeated breaches.

• The agent reads your threads, drafts replies and proposes actions. It sends only when you approve, or within the autonomy rules you set and can change at any time.
• It never writes to new recipients or adds attachments without a person’s approval, and does nothing automatic on suspicious mail.
• Its drafts can be wrong. You are responsible for what is sent from your domain, so review what you approve.
• We never use your mail to train AI models, and our AI providers may not either.

Your mail and the data in your workspace are yours. We process them only to provide the service and on your instructions, as the data processing agreement sets out. You can export everything over IMAP or from the app at any time.

We work to keep Skein available and secure, and we tell you in advance about planned maintenance that affects you. Before launch, the dates we give are estimates. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a core feature you pay for without notice and the option to leave with a prorated refund.

• Each side is liable for damage it causes through gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and where the law does not allow a limit.
• Otherwise, our total liability under these terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event, and neither side is liable for lost profits or indirect damage.

• You can cancel at any time from the app or by email; the service runs until the end of the period you paid for.
• We can end the service with 30 days’ notice, or at once for a serious breach of these terms.
• After the service ends you have 30 days to export your data; then we delete it, as the data processing agreement describes.

We email you at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then and we refund any prepaid period not yet used.

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute goes to the courts of Barcelona, Spain, unless the law says otherwise.
